yo. it’s been an action-packed week. and it looks like its gonna get even crazier… i’ll give you the cliff’s notes version until such time i am able to absorb all this properly and have the dust settle. haven’t even had the time to decompress about all the amazing events that are now… overwhelming me.
i barely got in from las vegas on tuesday evening.
on wednesday, i took the day off and hung out with my cousin, iya.
she asked me to run errands with her and mentioned she needed to use my truck to pick up a friend from burbank airport since said friend and girlfriend flew in with a ton of luggage.
“can’t they take a shuttle?”, i asked.
“um, no. they can’t. please do me this favor.” she said.
4pm rolls around… we pick up her “friends” and it turns out … my big brother, marc, and his wife, june flew in from san francisco to surprise my family and i. he let my cousin in on the secret that he and his wife have been in the states since august 18th – flying through the west coast – san francisco, seattle – visiting our other relatives… and making their final stop in los angeles to see us. you see, i haven’t seen marc in years. he left los angeles … single… though in love and in his junior year at CSUN… he came back, married and happy.

i can’t even describe how amazing it feels to have my family “complete” in a sense that all my siblings are now back in los angeles. i can barely get over the fact that marc is finally back. i love my brother so damn much, its ridiculous. and in true marc fashion – he surprised me… as we rolled up next to the curb at Terminal A in Burbank airport – my cousin asks me… “do you see who that is? look look!”…
…my jaw drops.
I nearly jumped out of the car as it was still sort of moving (thank God I wasn’t driving) and gave him the biggest hug as tears rolled down my face (thank God I was wearing sunglasses!) … my brother is finally back.
this is the best surprise I have ever gotten in my entire life.
My big bro, Marc, is the greatest and coolest person ever. And I had no doubt in my mind that he would be the first to marry among the four of us. His heart is so big… so kind…. gentle… smart… and downright cool and awesome…
his wife, June, was sitting next to me in the car earlier this evening and she had the cutest smile on her face. She kept looking down at my hands and motioned for my brother to look at them,
“Sweets, you guys have the same hands. I can’t get over it.”
my brother just said, “I know. Our dad’s hands. Sweet, this is my family.”
I just smiled so big – unable to speak. I have never wanted to cry all damn day from so much joy.
It’s good to have my brother back home.
