i was brave enough to jump into the post-thanksgiving sale madness. i woke up at 4:30 am so that i could go to circuit city with my cousin, iya, yesterday morning. she needed a flash drive that was once $80+ which after rebate was being sold for $3.00. yeah. so i threw on some jeans and hit up the sale with her. we took our time getting there. we had no interest in standing in line waiting for the store to open. it was quite chilly at 4 in the morning yesterday. we wanted the doors to be open and the crowd in the store upon arrival.
so, of course – the parking lot was madness. we walk in and the entire store was basically the entire check-out line looped through the aisles and counters. it was insane. i have never done this before and after reading mau’s blog on his own wii adventure – i decided to do one of my own. there were only two things on my to-buy list: new headphones and the new ipod shuffle. (pictured above)
you see, there are about four ipods floating around in our place. i have no legitimate excuse for purchasing this – but the only reason i can give is that i am a sucker for mac marketing. have you seen their ads for this new shuffle? urban twenty/thirty somethings dancing around all cute and clipping this little toy on their lapel or bag. i saw one girl or boy that hooked it on their scarf … and i was done! that was it. i wanted it. i travel quite a bit anyway and i’m always digging through my black hole of a purse and it usually takes me about a minute to find my ipod. with this device – i can hook it on scarf and i’m ready to go. the whole scarf + ipod thing is really great to me. man, im such a consumer. thanks to apple designers/engineers for being so darn smart…and understanding the right maneuver to hook music geeks like me that need to stay connected to their tunes everywhere… scarf action and all.
jason and i hit up lowe’s and target yesterday as well. he is currently caught in the mire of a new project. (magnetic fridge lights)… this will be interesting to watch as jt clearly states that he is not handy. and in our frustration as we were walking around lowe’s yesterday, slightly overwhelmed, with no clue where to go and what to do – he says, “i’m a man of science!”… ha ha ha. i also feel that its easier to design a house than build it. but its always super fun to figure things out on both ends..
the sewing machine you see above was purchased at target for $10.00. i have never been so excited about making pillow cases and t-shirts in my entire life. but i browsed through the appliance dept of target and found this baby waiting for me. just sitting there on the bottom shelf – hidden behind some $100 singer machines … this is portable and can be either used with an adaptor for home use or AA batteries for travel. i was happiest about this purchase out of everything i bought yesterday.
crafts wins over music.. just this time.
i am home getting crafty this saturday morning. so i’m making a little playlist of sorts for art n’ crafts time. check it out… get crafty tunes
